Re-inviting Food back into City Building

Through innovative planning and design strategies AU seeks to address and mitigate the causes and symptoms of an unhealthy food system. By marrying development and agriculture, AU challenges the dichotomous way people and their sources of food have been separated and proposes a win/win solution - a path forward. The theories, principles and approaches for sustainable city planning will be amplified by integrating an Agricultural Urbanism approach. Creating sustainable cities demands the merging of urbanism and sustainable food systems.
