Food Precinct - Institutional, Educational and Office Presence

The presence of institutional or educational organizations and their facilities lends a powerful quality to a precinct – that of reflection, learning, research, teaching and most importantly, the authentic energy and expression of students. The presence of institutions related to the precinct theme also provide an important employment node in the precinct, well-paid individuals to support retail in the area, and a general “intellectual dimension” to a precinct – giving it a greater sense of itself than merely manufacturing or retail areas. For a food precinct, these uses might include chef schools, agricultural educational institutions or others.
